Burlingame Intermediate School

<p>Burlingame Intermediate School serves students from the 6th to 8th grades, taking in the graduates of the five area elementary schools. The school works through a strong partnership between parents, teachers and students to create a safe and welcoming learning environment. </p> <p>The school earned an Academic Performance Index (API) of 889 in 2009, the year of the most recent data available. The school encourages students to participate in project-based learning classes, which are held twice a week culminating in a project demonstration. Students can choose from a roster of topics that might interest them, including civic and global awareness, innovative design, health and wellness, visual and the performing arts, communications, environmental issues as well as business/financial literacy.</p>
