Feed the Hungry Without Leaving Burlingame

Here are two ways to help feed the hungry this summer.

Looking to do some good this summer? Here are two local ways to help feed the hungry.

1) in Burlingame is participating in Restaurants Unlimited, Inc.’s (RUI) push to raise $75,000 for fighting childhood hunger.

Through September 9, RUI gift cards are 20 percent off, with five percent of the sales going to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign.

All RUI restaurant—including Kincaid’s—are participating in the promotion.

“We chose to work with Share Our Strength because we are committed to giving back to our communities and we couldn’t think of a better cause than ending childhood hunger in America,” said Chris Harter, President and CEO of Restaurants Unlimited, Inc. in a statement.

Share Our Strength is a national nonprofit committed to ending childhood hunger in America.

2) needs soup. The Burlingame nonprofit supports low-income individuals and families in the Peninsula and acts as a drop-in site for food and other aid.

The organization is looking primarily for hearty varieties of soup with pop-top lids. However, all soup donations are welcome.

CALL Primrose is located at 139 Primrose Road. Donations can be dropped at that location Monday through Friday from  9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
