Burlingame Water Polo Off to Good Start

BHS Women's Water Polo coach Sean Joy provided Patch with an update on the season so far.

The Burlingame Women's Water Polo team is off to a good start this season. The team is 3-1 in its four games so far.

The team began the season with the Gunn Scramble, beating Lincoln 24-1. Eight of the nine field players scored in the game. The players then defeated Half Moon Bay 17-2. Daphne Foster had six saves and junior Niki Reynolds had six goals.

Last Thursday the team had its first loss in over time against Paly, 13-12. Stand-out players included senior Kira Tomlinson with seven goals, Lindsey Fox with six steals, and goalie Gabby Funghi with five saves.

The team heads to the St Francis Tournament this week.
