The Burlingame Rays battled extreme heat and injuries to capture the U13G 2012 San Ramon Azuri Summer Classic soccer championship. The tournament was held over two days - July 21, 2012 and July 22, 2012. The girls put in a great performance despite having just come back from summer break.

The Rays won their first two games 8-1 and 5-0 and tied their third game 1-1 to reach the Championship game. They then went on to win the final 2-1 in a hard-fought game. Look here for the results of all the Rays games (the Rays are listed as ‘Burlingame’).

Congratulations to the team and coach Luciano on this achievement! The team return to the practice pitch this week to prepare for an exciting summer and fall season. Besides Mustang Stampede, the girls will be heading to a few tournaments in Southern California this year.

The 99G Rays are coached by Luciano Fusco. The objective is to establish a good foundation for the girls and facilitate future developmental stages. Coach Luciano places player and team development above winning. Players are encouraged to take risks in their game without the fear of losing.
