Burlingame High School senior Grant Goodman is keeping his baseball talents in the Bay Area. The University of San Francisco head baseball coach Nino Giarratano recently announced Goodman signed a national letter of intent during the early signing period to play baseball at the university beginning in the 2013-2014 academic year.
“Grant is one of the best pitchers in the Bay Area,” said Giarratano is a statement. “He has starter stuff, and he blossomed this summer. He stayed off the circuit where everyone could see him, and that’s a big reason we were able to sign him.”
While at BHS, Goodman was named athlete of the week by the San Mateo Daily Journal and Cal-Hi Sports. He additionally received the honor of Peninsula Athletic League Pitcher of the Year in 2012. Furthermore, San Jose Mercury News named him on the Central Coast Second-Team.
