has entered a video contest seeking funding for its Spanish Immersion program. The $2,500 prize would purchase more Spanish-language books for the library. The voting deadline has been extended to 9 p.m. Thursday.
McKinley is currently neck and neck with another school in the contest, so every vote counts.
Voting is easy and requires no entrance of an email address or other personal information. Simply visit the website, and check off the box next to McKinley Elementary to cast your vote.
V-me, a Spanish language television station, along with Santillana USA, part of an education publisher, are sponsoring the contest.
McKinley’s Spanish Immersion Program is a two-way bilingual program for both English and Spanish-speaking students. The goal is to have all students fluent in both languages by fifth grade.
All votes must be cast by 9 p.m. tonight, June 7.
