No Election Necessary For School Boards

In both the San Mateo Union High School District and Burlingame Elementary School District races, only incumbents entered the race.

While much attention has been paid in Burlingame and throughout the county to City Council races and ballot measures, two local races have flown under the radar. Both the San Mateo Union High School District and the Burlingame Elementary School District Board of Trustees had seats up for election this year. However, in both cases, only the incumbents with expiring terms decided to run, resulting in a no election situation.

Incumbents Stephen Rogers and Marc Friedman will keep their positions on the San Mateo Union High School District Board. Friedman took his post following former Board Member Dave Pine’s election to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors in May.

Similarly, only Burlingame Elementary School District Board of Trustees President Mark Intrieri and Vice President Michael Barber threw their hats in the ring for the two open spots on the board, thereby securing their reelection.
