New Restaurant Helps Burlingame Schools

The Melt celebrates its arrival in Burlingame with a fundraiser for local education.

Looking for a fun weekend activity? Try a new restaurant and help out Burlingame schools at the same time.

The Melt, a new restaurant opening in Burlingame this weekend, is celebrating its grand opening by hosting a fundraiser for the Burlingame Community Education Foundation.

Between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, 100 percent of proceeds will be donated to BCE. The Melt is opening at 1401 Burlingame Avenue in the old Burger Joint location.

BCE is a nonprofit established in 1981 that raises money for programs and education opportunities no longer afforded by state money.

To donate, visit www.bcefoundation.org/donate.

The Melt features unique grilled cheese sandwiches and soups and is headquarted in San Francisco.

Thank you to the Melt for helping Burlingame schools! BCE raises funds to help keep our class sizes low, provide music and pe programs for students and much, much more. Even those without kids in the schools benefit by all of BCE's hard work since great schools are one of the reasons that people move to Burlingame!!
