McKinley Wins $2,500 Prize

McKinley Elementary School won a video contest with a $2,500 prize.

beat the competition this week by receiving the most votes in a video contest to take home a $2,500 prize.

The school will be awarded $2,500 worth of Spanish-language books and materials for its Spanish Immersion program.

V-me, a Spanish language television station, along with Santillana USA, part of an education publisher, sponsored the contest, which had schools submit a short video for votes.

McKinley’s Spanish Immersion Program is a two-way bilingual program for both English and Spanish-speaking students. The goal is to have all students fluent in both languages by fifth grade.
