'All I Need is Your Bank Account Number'

Learn how to avoid scam artists and and telemarketing fraud at a workshop hosted by Assemblymember Jerry Hill.

In June of this year, after a a caller victimized a Burlingame resident by posing as a member of the police department over the phone and asking for a donation.

Furthermore, Burlingame police frequently receive calls from residents reporting getting calls from people claiming to be grandsons or other family members in need of money.

On Friday at 10 a.m., Assemblymember Jerry Hill and representatives from Seniors Against Fraud (SAIF), will present the annual senior fraud prevention workshop at , helping residents learn what to do when these callers make contact.

The free workshop will teach seniors how to protect themselves against scam artists who commit investment and telemarketing fraud crimes. Participants of all ages are welcome.
