Two Teens Arrested for Stealing, Burglarizing Vehicle

A South San Francisco police canine tracked the teens and found them hiding in nearby bushes, according to police.

By Bay City News Service:

Two teens were arrested for allegedly stealing and burglarizing a vehicle in a residential neighborhood near Orange Memorial Park in South San Francisco early Friday morning, a police sergeant said.

At about 4:15 a.m. on Friday a South San Francisco resident called police after seeing two suspects in the process of burglarizing a vehicle in the 700 block of Circle Court near North Canal Street, police Sgt. Mike Toscano said.

The suspects, later identified as 15- and 16-year-old South San Francisco residents, fled the area as officers arrived at the scene, Toscano said.

A South San Francisco police canine tracked the teens and found them hiding in nearby bushes, according to Toscano.

Police determined that the teens stole the vehicle from the 800 block of Miller Avenue, about four blocks away, prior to removing parts from the vehicle, Toscano said.

The teens were arrested and booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Hall on suspicion of auto burglary, conspiracy and resisting arrest, the sergeant said.
