Two Burlingame Police Officers Recognized for 'Avoid the 23' Arrests

Burlingame Police Officers Nick Kempel and Dan Forbes were recognized for their work against drunk driving.

Two Burlingame Police officers were honored last Wednesday for their work with Avoid the 23, San Mateo County’s multi-jurisdictional effort against drunk driving.

Officers Nick Kempel was recognized for 28 arrests, and Officer Dan Forbes was recognized for 20 arrests, in 2012.

The recognition event -- which honored police officers, CHP officers, and sheriff's deputies for their CHP expertise -- took place at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Foster City, and was sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the California Office of Traffic Safety.
