A woman spotted acting suspiciously at a San Carlos Best Buy store was arrested when sheriff's deputies allegedly found altered debit cards and gift cards in her possession.
Robinique Manuel, 21, of Oakland was taken into custody Thursday and booked on suspicion of burglary, identity theft, possession of a forged identification card and possession of a counterfeit card, according to San Mateo County sheriff's spokesperson Rebecca Rosenblatt.
When deputies allegedly found marijuana among her possessions, she was booked on suspicion of bringing an illegal substance into a jail; she also allegedly had two out-of-county misdemeanor warrants, Rosenblatt reported.
Law enforcement authorities warn residents to shred personal papers, not store birth certificates and social security cards in wallets and not print drivers' license numbers, telephone numbers or social security numbers on checks.
