Police Blotter: Vacationing Resident's Home Burglarized

The following information was supplied by the Burlingame Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, July 10

7:24 a.m. There was a report of two dogs running loose on the 700 block of El Camino Real. One was almost hit by a car. One of the dogs was taken in by a neighbor and officers could not locate the other.

7:45 a.m. A man was found slumped over the wheel of his car on the 1500 block of Balboa Way. He was contacted and said he slept there because he was too tired to walk into his home the night before.

11:09 a.m. A man received a letter that accused him of sleeping with a female coworker. The man does not have a female coworker.

4:34 p.m. Two men came to a home on the 1400 block of Cortez Avenue saying they needed to get to the backyard to read the home's meter. The resident called PG&E, which said there was no record of workers being there.

10:02 p.m. A resident reported that a vacant neighbor's house on the 2800 block of Adeline Drive had people inside. Police found three intoxicated people who were painters with permission to spend the night from the homeowner.

Wednesday, July 11

6:43 a.m. A resident reported a car alarm sounding for nearly half an hour on the 1200 block of Oak Grove Avenue at an apartment building. The car battery died and the alarm stopped.

8:05 a.m. A resident reported an unusual van on the 1200 block of Balboa Avenue that someone was potentially sleeping in. Police found items concealed by a blanket that could have been seen as a sleeping person.

6:17 p.m. Two juveniles ran out of a store on the 1400 block of Howard Avenue with two 12 packs of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, according to a store employee. Officers were unable to find the juveniles.

6:22 p.m. A woman reported sugar had been poured into her gas tank.

7:17 p.m. A resident on the 1200 block of Drake Avenue reported an incoherent woman breaking up boards in an easement. Officers discovered the woman was a neighbor of the reporting resident and was picking up tools.

Thursday, July 12

12:12 a.m. A woman reported someone potentially came into her home and took her cat on the 800 block of Burlingame Avenue. At the time, she said it was also possible the cat was hiding.

11:15 a.m. A home was found burglarized on the 1800 block of Loyola Drive after a neighbor reported the door being open and said the neighbors were on vacation.

9:42 p.m. There was a report of a juvenile speeding on a mini-bike at Pepper Avenue and Ralston Avenue.
