Police Blotter: Transient Sleeping in Laundry Room and More

The following information was supplied by the Burlingame Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 30

12:11 a.m. A locked bicycle was stolen on the 0 block of Highlands Avenue.

2:42 a.m. An apartment resident on the 3100 block of Frontera Way reported a dog left in a car. It was discovered the building's elevator was broken and the dog weighs 90 pounds and has bad hips. The officer helped the owner get the dog into the apartment.

7:15 a.m. A car hit a wall in a 1200 block of Donnelly Avenue parking structure.

8:28 a.m. A resident reported a man exposed himself in his parking garage on the 100 block of Park Road.

8:42 a.m. A resident reported seeing a subject in his neighbor's backyard on the 1300 block of Bernal Avenue. It turned out the suspicious subject was the neighbor's son.

4:54 p.m. A resident reported noticing a strong odor of smoke in her home on the 600 block of Howard Avenue.

9:44 p.m. There was a dryer fire on the 1300 block of Alvarado Avenue.

Tuesday, July 31

1:31 a.m. Two subjects who claimed to be watching the bay while parked on the 1500 block of Bayshore Highway were sent on their way.

7:06 a.m. Police received a report of a car illegally parked in a handicap spot on the 1300 block of Bayshore Highway.  The caller cancelled the report after the driver returned to the car with a handicap placard.

9:55 a.m. A transient was found to be sleeping in a laundry room and charging his cell phone on the 1100 block of Laguna Avenue.

9:14 p.m. A citizen called and said someone had parked so close to his car that he could not move in on the 1100 block of Paloma Avenue. The car's owner was contacted and the car was moved.
