@HillsboroughPD Rates High on Twitter
The International Association of Police Chiefs places the Hillsborough police agency in the top 10 of one of its social media categories.
The Hillsborough Police rates in the top 10 for the highest number of Twitter followers for a department with 26 to 49 sworn officers, a national ranking reports.
The International Association of Police Chiefs (IACP) updated its list of top law enforcement agencies on social media. The IACP aims to inform and help these agencies build and use these Web 2.0 tools in crime prevention, community relations and enhanced operations.
At the time the IACP published its list on July 3, 2013 the HPD had 2,912 followers.
The Bridgewater Police Department in Massachusetts ranks No. 1 in that category with 6,275.
As of the publication of this Patch article, the HPD had amassed a few more with 2,933 followers.
