Hillsborough Home Burglary Loss Now Estimated at $100,000

Police are asking residents on Alberta Way or Hayne Road with home surveillance footage to review their video and share any helpful tapes with the department.

A home burglary that occurred on Tuesday in Hillsborough is estimated to have cost tens of thousands of dollars in losses, according to police.

The burglary in the 300 block of Alberta Way happened between 10:35 a.m. and 12:35 p.m., Capt. Doug Davis said.

The suspect entered the home by breaking a rear glass door with possibly a lawn or patio chair found in the backyard, Davis said. The suspect stole various items including coins and jewelry from the master bedroom and upstairs office then fled through the front door, according to Davis.

Loss is estimated at $100,000, he said. An alarm system is installed at the home, however, it was not turned on before the burglary.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Hillsborough police at (650) 375-7470.

Police are also asking any residents on Alberta Way or Hayne Road with home surveillance footage to review their video and share any helpful tapes with the department.
