Car Fire Blocks Traffic in Burlingame

An early morning car fire blocked traffic on Highway 280.

Emergency crews this morning responded to the scene of a one-car crash on interstate Highway 280 in Burlingame that led to a car fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP reported as of 3 a.m. that the car involved in the collision was fully engulfed in flames and blocking the slow lane on northbound Highway 280 just north of the Trousdale Drive exit.

The CHP received reports around 2:50 a.m. that the vehicle apparently crashed into a roadway guardrail before catching fire. No information about potential injuries in the collision was immediately available.
