Didn't make the poll but I would have voted for Mezza Luna in Princeton the best. Its like dining on the Cinque Terre!

Mezza Luna was in the Half Moon Bay Patch poll for Best Italian Restaurant...it was the top vote-getter for awhile, but in the last day, It's Italia pulled ahead to come in first. Here's a link to the original poll: http://patch.com/A-rj64

Interesting. Perhaps next year there could be one category for casual pizza-based restaurants, and another for more traditional dining. Also, Peninsula residents dine in towns other than the one where they live.

Pure popularity contest, of course. Pasta Moon blows away Its Italia and Mezza Luna is terms of ingredients and preparation. Not to mention wine list. Hands down. Easy.

I like Mezza Luna as well. My wife and I had breakfast at the Mezza Luna Cafe yesterday.

No one has mentioned O Sole Mio in Millbrae. It is like the Italian restaurant we would go to in North Beach many years ago. Fine dining and pizza, all at great prices.
