Record Crowds Visit Burlingame Pet Parade

The Saturday event attracted more spectators and pets than ever before.

This weekend, more than 700 pets owners and their animals took to the streets for Burlingame’s Ninth Annual Pet Parade.

They presented their best costumes and tricks to more than 1,600 specators along Broadway Saturday morning. The parade included the Burlingame High School Marching Band and the Los Trancos Woods Community Marching Band, led by the kids from Burlingame’s First Presbyterian Church Nursery School.

The event also featured music by the San Mateo Elks Concert Band and sidewalk sales and promotions from Broadway businesses for participants and spectators, chocolate tours at Preston's Candy & Ice Cream, as well as two police dogs and two alpacas.
