Week Ahead: Public Hearings and Fundraisers

Take a look at what's going on in Burlingame this week.

What's on tap for this week? Keep an eye out for these events and stories this week. We'll be there to cover them.

  • The Planning Commission meets Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Two public hearings will be held at the meeting. The first will discuss a possible ordinance to regulate the location of telecommunication facilities, such as cell phone towers, in Burlingame. The second will involve changes to the Downtown Specific Plan zoning and housing plan for the area.
  • It's another family fun night this Tuesday at the Burlingame Public Library. This week, the Puppet Art Theater will put on The Boy Who Cried Wolf. The event is free, but tickets are required.
  • On Tuesday the Central County Firefighters will hold their annual Muscular Dystrophy Fundraiser, Fill the Boot. Firefighters will be stationed at California Drive and Broadway asking residents for donations. Find them in the morning through the early afternoon.
  • On Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Heald College in San Francisco, Comcast will hold a job fair to fill residential direct sales representative positions in three Bay Area offices, including the Burlingame office.
  • The Burlingame Parks & Recreation Department’s Summer Musical Camp will perform Fiddler on the Roof Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. Both shows are free and playing at Burlingame Intermediate School.
  • Steelhead Brewery is hosting a chili cook-off Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. to benefit local charities. 
  • It's the last week of Music in the Park! Don't miss the last show, happening Sunday at 1 p.m. in Washington Park. OTR will play classic rock and roll and R&B.
