Week Ahead: Labor Day Week

  • Monday is Labor Day. All city offices are closed. Enjoy the holiday!
  • The City Council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers. They will discuss a cell phone antenna moratorium, a Caltrain capacity study and more.
  • Tuesday night is Pizza Night for Washington Elementary School. Visit Round Table Pizza from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Burlingame Avenue. Fifteen percent of the sales go towards the school.
  • The Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee meets at 5:30 Thursday.
  • Following the Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee meeting Thursday, the Traffic, Safety and Parking Commission meets at 7:00 p.m.
  • Movies in the Park continues Friday at 8 p.m. in Washington Park. Toy Story 3 will be played.
  • The Burlingame Library Foundation will hold a book sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Main Library.
  • The grand opening of the Peninsula Humane Society's Tom and Annette Lantos Center for Compassion is Saturday at 11 a.m. The center is at 1450 Rollins Road in Burlingame.
  • Sunday is the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Check Burlingame Patch for coverage of the anniversary, and take a few moments to remember the events of that day.
