Shortly after the moon landing I remember going to the USGS to see a piece of moon rock on public display that the astronauts brought back.

I saw the moon landing LIVE, on a small black-and white television set. There was such ephoria when Armstrong's foot touched lunar soil! I was 17 at the time, but can still feel the chills, 43 years later.....

My wife and I were traveling in France and stopped at a small restaurant in Brittany. The owner had turned the TV for patrons to watch the moon landing. At the end of our dinner, he brought us a dessert, some gelato I think it was, with a tiny American flag on a little stick. He said this was 'an American moment' - I felt it was the world's moment.

Like Deb Wong, I saw the moon landing live on a black-and-white TV. I was 19 years old and my parents and I were glued to the screen. I took black-and-white pictures of the TV screen with Neil Armstrong and others walking on the moon. My parents said the pictures would not come out but they did. I have pictures of the first moon walkers! A very special and proud time for me and my parents.

I went to Purdue University, where Armstrong and several other astronauts attended. Like others, I watched the first moon landing on TV. However, it was during a party being thrown for my fiancé and me by an aunt and uncle. We were married six days later while the mission was enroute home from the moon. My uncle was skeptical that the landing was real. He maintained for years after that it was all filmed in a studio somewhere.

I watched on a little black and white as well. I was so fascinated...I named my dog Apollo.

I remember seeing him land on the moon, yeah I must have 3 years old, but I remember my mom yelling to come watch the TV. Who knows how many kids astronauts like Niel Armstrong inspired to go and study math, science and engineering. I was one, I drank Tang and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Who inspires kids today, some ego centric basketball player. BTW, when are we going back to the moon? God bless Niel Armstrong.

It's not just you, it's all of us. I'll bet most of us have seen this happen all over town. PeopleRead More don't seem to be in the habit of checking for pedestrians, unless perhaps they're near a school. Drivers need to understand that they must watch, yield and wait. In large cities where there may be dozens of people in an intersection, drivers, for the most part, observe the law--there's safety in numbers. So when we're alone or in a small group, and find ourselves in a crosswalk around here, we all must remain alert and be ready to "jump out of the way" of some unobservant or inconsiderate driver.
