Park on Patch This Small Business Saturday

Patch is paying for your parking Saturday.

We want you to have one day when parking on Burlingame Avenue is a pleasure--no rooting around for coins in the bottom of your purse or pocket, no running outside frantic, mid-conversation, to feed the meter.

Burlingame-Hillsborough Patch has paid for dozens of parking meters downtown on Burlingame Avenue--from El Camino Real to California Drive--from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 24. Some meters will also be paid for on Park Road.

The two hour time limit still applies to these metered spots.

Be on the look-out for Patch editors Laura Dudnick and Jennifer Van der Kleut, who will be hanging out on the Avenue talking more about Patch.

So spread the word to your friends and family, and we'll see you Saturday.

It's not just you, it's all of us. I'll bet most of us have seen this happen all over town. PeopleRead More don't seem to be in the habit of checking for pedestrians, unless perhaps they're near a school. Drivers need to understand that they must watch, yield and wait. In large cities where there may be dozens of people in an intersection, drivers, for the most part, observe the law--there's safety in numbers. So when we're alone or in a small group, and find ourselves in a crosswalk around here, we all must remain alert and be ready to "jump out of the way" of some unobservant or inconsiderate driver.
