Live Crabs Spill On Roadway

Highway 92 reopened after live crabs spilled near Half Moon Bay.

All lanes have reopened after a big-rig accident spilled live crabs on state Highway 92 near Half Moon Bay Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A truck transporting live crabs was in a collision on state Highway 92 near Half Moon Bay Friday night, which temporarily closed lanes in both directions, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident involving a big-rig and another vehicle was reported at 10:43 p.m. at Pilarcitos Creek Road, according to the CHP.

Eastbound lanes were closed at 11:01 p.m. and westbound lanes were temporarily closed 11:09 p.m. after crabs were reported all over the roadway, according to the CHP.

A telephone pole was hit in the crash, the CHP said. All lanes reopened at 2 a.m. this morning, the CHP said.
