Get Involved In Your Community

Two community groups are looking to fill vacancies on their boards.

Looking for a way to get more involved in your community? Consider applying for a spot on Caltrain's Bicycle Advisory Committee or the Burlingame Library Board. 

Caltrain Bicycle Advisory Committee:

Caltrain is seeking a San Mateo County representative to join its Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC). Applicants must be Caltrain bike passengers and residents of San Mateo County. They must also be members of the general public.

BAC is the liaison between Caltrain and riders who travel to Caltrain stations by bicycle. The committee helps facilitate conversation between the two groups.

BAC is a group of nine volunteers from San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. A public agency staff member, bicycle advocacy group member and Caltrain bike passenger is appointed from each county.

Burlingame Library Board:

Burlingame is looking to fill two vacancies on its Library Board. Those chosen will most likely be appointed for a three-year term.

Library Board members work together with City staff to provide recommendations, ideas and feedback to make the best decisions for the library and the community. 

Applications are available on the City website and are due June 3.
