“I do not support the ban at all.. ESPECIALLY if they will still be allowed in parks and schools. (do as I say, not as I do...) If they are banned in schools and parks then the City will see the hit financially and that may have some clout. What is next, ban lawn mowers, hedge trimmers and edge trimmers? Who will enforce the ban on blowers? Police? City council members? Residents/neighbors?
I have a large city owned Ginko tree in front of my house that produces literally 3 full garbage cans worth of leaves in November/December. Is the City going to remove the leaves for me now that I'll not be able to use my blower?
...too much government...” Patrick O’Flaherty

“Yes, I and my wife are in fully support of any ordinance that would completely ban leaf blowers. We have been residents of Burlingame for 36-years, and for those 36-years, we have had to listen to the noise pollution as well as be exposed to contaminants, e.g., pesticides, feces, etc., that the leaf blowers blow indiscriminately into the atmosphere. It is time for these devices to be put to rest.” Dan and Liz Lopez

“Doesn't seem effective to cut out leaf blowers all together. Would be really nice if we could coordinate days and hours for gardeners to come (ie Mon/Weds/Fri). In my area, there is a gardener coming to a different house every day, so it seems like leaf blowers are going very often. If we had specified "quiet days", we could be prepared for the noisy days, and at least it wouldn't be every day.” Alisa Ferrari

“This is why the housing market is so desirable in Burlingame. I had one of my homes for rent, 3 days and many applicants. Families with children desperate for school system.” Gioia Barbera

“I take a bit of exception to your article, as usual you are misinformed a opinionated, without substantiation. I have lived in the so called "McKinley" area for 32 years, and in Burlingame for 58. Both my children attended McKinley school, one is a practicing attorney and the other and independent business owner. We entertained a number of successful (now adults) students, who, I would imagine would also take offense at this article. As John Root stated, meet the principal and observe before making rash statements.” Gary Coulter

“Great pics! Thanks for sharing!” Angela Jordan-Chetcuti

“Raking leaves requires more time per house. Extra time means higher cost for the business owner. Business owner passes cost to homeowner. Some may be happy with that senerio, some not so much. I appreciate the council researching the choices and having to make the decision.” John Pivirotto

“Jack's has great burgers but you missed two other new and rising stars. Refuge in San Carlos and Godfathers on El Camino. The Pastrami and Burger combo at Refuge is outstanding.” Herb Perez
