Catch Caltrain This Holiday

Get the Caltrain schedule for the upcoming Christmas and New Year's holidays.

Although service is limited, riders can still take Caltrain to their holiday celebrations. On Christmas Day and New Year's Day, Caltrain will operate on a Sunday schedule.

On the days following those two holidays, Caltrain will run on a Saturday schedule.

Additionally, Caltrain is encouraging New Year’s Eve revelers to avoid the roads and is again offering free train service on Dec. 31 starting at 11 p.m.

Also on New Year's Eve, Caltrain will add four extra trains to make post-midnight runs along its regular Sunday schedule route. Those trains will depart San Francisco at 12:45 a.m., 1:15 a.m., 1:45 a.m. and 2:15 a.m.

A train following the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl game on Dec. 31 at At&T Park will leave 15 minutes after the game and go express to San Carlos.

Caltrain does not allow open alcohol containers after 9 p.m. following special events.

SamTrans will similarly operate on a Sunday schedule on Christmas and New Year’s Day and a Saturday schedule for Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
