UPDATE: Caltrain Fatally Strikes Female Near Broadway Station

A southbound Caltrain hit a trespasser Wednesday morning.

A Caltrain traveling south fatally struck an adult female trespasser near the Broadway station at approximately 10 a.m., said Caltrain spokesperson Tasha Bartholomew. The exact cause of the fatality will be determined by the San Mateo County coroner following an investigation.

The accident occurred south of Trousdale Drive in Burlingame.

Trains began running using a single-track in the area with delays of up to an hour around 11 a.m. As of 12:25 p.m., both tracks were reopened and delays were cut down to 50 minutes.
