Caltrain Delayed Due To Possible Crash

Inspectors are investigating a possible crash.

Caltrain service has been temporarily suspended between Burlingame and San Mateo Friday evening as officials investigate reports of a possible crash along the route, a Caltrain spokeswoman said.

Inspectors are responding to one of four bridges along the train tracks, spokeswoman Christine Dunn said. Each bridge has a signal to alert authorities in the event that a vehicle crashes into it and one of these signals went off this evening, Dunn said.

"As far as we know, there is no vehicle that has crashed there," she said, although the inspection is still ongoing. Dunn said riders can expect to see delays of up to 30 minutes.
