Beware of Gas Smell in Burlingame

PG&E crews will vent a pipeline in Burlingame Wednesday afternoon, releasing natural gas while work is done.

Burlingame residents may detect a natural gas odor this afternoon while PG&E crews vent a pipeline near Mills Canyon Park, a utility spokesman said.

Crews are scheduled to release natural gas from a pipe in the area of Adeline Drive and Alvarado Avenue around 1 p.m. in order to perform work on the line, PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said.

Molica said a gas smell from the venting may be briefly noticeable for about 10 minutes, but that the gas will dissipate and is not harmful.
