76-Year-Old Pacifica Woman Reported Missing

She was last seen in Pacifica Wednesday afternoon.

 Officers from the Pacifica Police Department were alerted that 76-year-old Maria "Marlies" Jansen had gone missing in the Park Pacifica area of Pacifica at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday night, July 25.

Police report that Jansen was last seen by her husband in the area of their home a few hours prior. Her husband was not able to locate her. Jansen is known to walk the trails near Park Pacifica.

A search of nearby areas and homes yielded no results, and the assistance of the San Mate County Sheriff Search and Rescue Unit was then enlisted.

As of 4 a.m. Thursday morning, the Search and Rescue Unit and Pacifica Police are still searching for Jansen.

Anyone who has seen Maria Jansen is asked to call 9-1-1.

Jansen is described as having brown hair, brown eyes, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing yellow "Croc"-style sandals.
