Swiftwater Cafe Earns Healthy Menu Award

Burlingame's Swiftwater Cafe earned an award for creating healthy choices for children.

Keeping kids healthy is important, and healthy living practices often start with healthy eating habits. The Swiftwater Café at the Hyatt Regency SFO in Burlingame agrees, and recently received a 2012 Healthy Menu Award from the Well Kiddos Foundation for its efforts in creating a healthy and kid-friendly children’s menu.

“We are thrilled to know that the Swiftwater Café-Hyatt Regency SFO wishes to serve their youngest customers with tummy yummy healthy foods. The corporation has made a crucial move to send a signal to the restaurant industry that the modern, health conscious parents are looking for healthy choices on kids menus,” said Well Kiddos Founder Manu Hipkins in a statement. “We all have an ethical responsibility to promote healthy eating for kids…We can’t survive on processed foods that are devoid of nutrients and loaded with calories. We need to change and the Hyatt Corporation’s initiative shows us that it can be done.”

The Hyatt Corporation is rethinking its approach to kids menu, and this award demonstrates an important step in the process, said Vice President of Food and Beverage, North America Operations, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Susan Santiago.
