IHOP Restaurants to Serve Free Short Stacks on National Pancake Day

Eaters asked to make donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

IHOP restaurants around the country will serve free short stacks of pancakes on Tuesday as part of National Pancake Day.

Participating IHOP restaurants will serve the free pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Those eating them will be asked to make a voluntary donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

The chain began the tradition in 2006, and claims to have raised nearly $8 million to support charities in the communities in which it operates.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals raises money for children's hospitals in the United States.

Last year, IHOP served an estimated 4 million free pancakes on National Pancake Day, according to restaurant officials.

Burlingame residents can get their pancake fill at IHOP locations in San Bruno (590 El Camino Real) and Foster City (531 Foster City Boulevard).
