Music At Kohl Mansion Rings In The Holidays

San Francisco Symphony musicians return to Burlingame this Sunday during the latest installment of Music at Kohl Mansion’s series of chamber concerts.

Music by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Hugo Wolf will fill the space when San Francisco Symphony Musicians Dan Carlson, Amy Hiraga, Jonathan Vinocour and Peter Wyrick come to town, accompanied by San Francisco Opera violinist Joy Fellows.

Kohl Mansion will host the concert in full holiday decoration and is hailing the show as a celebration of the season.

It has been three years since members of the San Francisco Symphony have played at Kohl Mansion. The scheduled performance includes Mozart’s String Quintet in G Minor, K. 516, Mendelssohn’s String Quintet No. 2 in B-flat major, Op. 87 and Hugo Wolf’s Italian Serenade for a string quarter.

Before the performance, concert-goers can enjoy a talk with Kohl musicologist Kai Chrstiansen at 6 p.m. Following the show, guests can meet the musicians at a buffet reception held in Kohl Mansion’s dining room. Both the talk and reception are free.

The Kohl Chamber Music Series has been bringing music to the Peninsula for almost three decades. The programs boasts an intimate music experience with excellent acoustics in the 1912 Tudor-style mansion.
