Acting Out & About Presents: "Sorry, Wrong Number!"

Local theatre troupe "Acting Out & About" will presents the radio drama production of Sorry, Wrong Number! Sunday evening at Il Piccolo Caffe.

This classic radio drama horrified the nation on May 25, 1943.  The production, starring Agnes Moorehead, is about an invalid who mistakenly overhears two people (through a botched telephone connection) plotting the murder of a woman, alone at home and helpless.  The woman’s efforts to get help from uncaring operators, skeptical police officers and hospital personnel heightens the intensity when “Mrs. Elbert Stevenson” discovers that she is the one about to be murdered.

Laura Schureiman portrays “Mrs. Stevenson”, Alida Hinton is the main oblivious operator, Linda Milliken is “Sergeant Martin”, the murderers are Andrew Coxhead and Cathy Foxhoven and Kay (Kiki) Arnaudo is the announcer.  Most of the sound effects are duplicated in the style of “foley artists” techniques.
