Pair Seriously Injured in I-280 Motorcycle Crash Sunday Night

Two people were ejected from a motorcycle at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Burlingame that left two people on a motorcycle seriously injured on Sunday night, an officer said.

The crash was reported on southbound Interstate Highway 280 near Trousdale Drive at about 8:30 p.m., CHP Officer Art Montiel said.

According to preliminary information, a male driver and a female passenger were on a motorcycle that rear-ended a Toyota Prius in the southbound lanes, Montiel said.

Both people were ejected from the motorcycle and taken to Stanford Hospital with major injuries, he said. No one else was injured and investigators are trying to determine what caused the collision, Montiel said.

Various lanes on Highway 280 were closed for more than two hours Sunday while the crash scene was cleared. Anyone who might have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the CHP's Redwood City office at (650) 369-6261.

Yes, we are well aware of this & can not believe the Burlingame district is proceeding with theRead More plans for this school. The footprint of the school does not allow for safe drop off and pick up. I have seen a couple of different plans for the drop off line & none of them are adequate for the location. The traffic will surely be a nightmare & I hope we are not moved to this school, as there is not proper access for drop off. Also, not sure why the plans keep changing, maybe because they can not come up with a good plan.
