Hundreds Join Faith in Action Day

Over the weekend, community members gathered for a variety of service projects.

This past weekend, 375 First Presbyterian Church of Burlingame congregants and fellow community members volunteered during the church’s third annual Faith in Action Day.

“We had record sign-ups and loads of energy,” reported Gratia Barton, lead organizer in a statement.

Volunteers spent time on Saturday, October 27, working on a Daly City Habitat for Humanity site, packing snack bags at CALL Primrose, clearing ivy at San Mateo’s Borel Middle School, serving breakfast at Shelter Network’s Maple Street home, barbecuing lunch at Safe Harbor Shelter, carving pumpkins at First Step for Families shelter with children, and visiting seniors.

“It was a rewarding and fun day for all,” said Barton.
