'Find My Phone' Retrieves Burlingame Woman's Phone Stolen in Boston

The suspect ended up running out of his apartment, in his underwear, surrendering the stolen iPad.

A Burlingame woman is today probably thanking her lucky "apps" - a specific software application and the local Apple store - after her stolen iPad was recovered in Boston.

According to media reports, Lorene Wilk and her husband were visiting their daughter in Boston for the Thanksgiving holiday.

When leaving town, Wilk believes a conversation among family overheard by an unscrupulous taxi driver may have led to the theft of her backpack which contained the iPad.

"I believe he probably somehow unzipped my suitcase and pulled that backpack out," Wilks told KTVU-TV.

Using the free app 'Find My Phone', the Burlingame Apple store located the iPad in Boston and notified local police, who grabbed the scofflaw.

"He ended up running out of his apartment, in his underwear, surrendering my iPad along with the backpack,” Wilk told KTVU.
