Mixed Bag Designs Greens Up with Stainbridge Academy

Stainbridge Academy, a local not-for-profit private school in San Mateo serving students with mild to moderate learning differences, has recently teamed up with school fundraising company Mixed Bag Designs in a 13th year internship program.

Last year, Mixed Bag Designs donated reusable lunch bags to Stainbridge kicking off a school-wide green campaign with Recology. The bags helped changed the way students and staff think about reusing products and as a result, Stainbridge Academy has significantly reduced lunch waste, improved paper recycling and created "star teams" to manage the recycling system at the school.

After the successful go-green campaign, Mixed Bag Designs is proud to be a part of Stainbridge's 13th year internship program for students in transition. Stainbridge students will participate in the internship training to help them practice working in a real company before graduating.

"We are so excited to have the Stainbridge students come to our company - not only will they be a big help to our daily operation, but it feels great to work with local schools and to be involved in our community," explained Mixed Bag Designs sales director Kim Siehl.

Stainbridge Academy is also an applicant in the BizSmart@Work Awards in Sam Mateo County due to their recycling efforts and successful green campaigns. Visit Facebook.com/RethinkWaste to learn more!
